What happens if my business moves or closes?

Contact PPL PRS with your account number, old and new premises, legal business details, closure or move date and the music use at each location. A new premises may need a new tariff or account rather than a simple transfer.

Ask for written confirmation of the amendment or cancellation and the date charges stop. Do not assume that cancelling a streaming service or leaving the premises automatically ends TheMusicLicence.

You do not need a separate PPL PRS licence if you only use MelloJam

If your business plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player, you are not using music from the repertoire covered by PPL PRS's licensing route. MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights it controls are included in your MelloJam plan, so you do not need a separate licence from PPL PRS for the MelloJam playback itself.

A separate non-waivable venue charge can still apply where local law imposes one. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying and online use are outside the MelloJam plan.
