Soundtrack alternative for business music
Most businesses do not know that Spotify's regular service is not authorised for public business playback. Soundtrack is the business music alternative Spotify points businesses towards, but its per-zone pricing can be much higher than a plan based on concurrent playback.
MelloJam is built for commercial background music. It costs $9 for one concurrent player, $19 for up to 10, and $99 for up to 100. The covered commercial playback rights for the MelloJam catalogue are included with every plan.

See how much you can save
This small calculator uses the current monthly Denmark figures above. Enter the number of zones and any Soundtrack features you need. The MelloJam plan is estimated from the same number of active spaces: Solo for one, Multi for up to 10, and Unlimited for up to 100.
How Soundtrack pricing works
The current Soundtrack pricing page shows these Denmark prices for its Essential plan:
| | Monthly billing | Annual billing |
| Essential per zone | 409 DKK/month | 369 DKK/month equivalent |
| Essential annual total | 4,908 DKK | 4,428 DKK |
| Unlimited Music Control | +200 DKK/month per zone | +180 DKK/month per zone |
| Messaging | +99 DKK/month per zone | +99 DKK/month per zone |
| Hi-Fi Audio | +89 DKK/month per zone | +89 DKK/month per zone |
Each activated zone adds another music stream and another subscription charge. MelloJam instead prices the number of players that can be active at the same time.
What MelloJam changes
The largest difference is the billing model. Soundtrack charges per activated zone, while MelloJam charges by simultaneous playback capacity. A small business can therefore use one MelloJam plan for several spaces when they do not all need separate concurrent players.
MelloJam is browser-first and does not require proprietary music hardware. That makes it easier to test on equipment a business already has, while Soundtrack may be a better fit when a business specifically needs its hardware, scheduling, messaging, offline playback, catalogue, or enterprise controls.
Keep the rights question separate from the price question
MelloJam is intended for commercial background playback, and the covered commercial playback rights for its catalogue are included with each plan. Businesses should still check local public-performance obligations that may apply to their country, venue type, or use of music.
Soundtrack Your Brand is the former name that still appears in older articles, URLs, and search results. Soundtrack began as Spotify's business music venture, but it should not be described as Spotify's current business subscription. Soundtrack now presents itself as its own business music company.
