Does OneMusic New Zealand cover radio, TV and streaming?

Yes, these sources can still be public business uses. OneMusic New Zealand says that even talkback radio and sports on television can be part of the licensed use when music is played in a business. A digital service does not automatically provide commercial public performance permission.

You must also follow the terms of the streaming service. A personal subscription may not permit business playback, and a OneMusic licence does not change those terms.

You do not need a separate OneMusic New Zealand licence if you only use MelloJam

If your business plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player, you are not using music from the repertoire covered by OneMusic New Zealand's licensing route. MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights it controls are included in your MelloJam plan, so you do not need a separate licence from OneMusic New Zealand for the MelloJam playback itself.

A separate non-waivable venue charge can still apply where local law imposes one. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying and online use are outside the MelloJam plan.
