What is OneMusic Australia?
OneMusic Australia is the joint licensing initiative of APRA AMCOS and PPCA. It provides a licensing route for Australian businesses and organisations that use copyright protected music in a commercial setting.
How APRA AMCOS and PPCA fit together
APRA AMCOS represents rights in musical works, such as compositions and lyrics. PPCA represents rights in sound recordings for record companies and recording artists. OneMusic brings these licensing interests together for many business uses, so the relevant category depends on the music source and how it is used.

When an Australian business should check OneMusic
Check the current licence category when your business plays recorded music for customers or staff, uses music in a public area, hosts live or featured music, or uses music through another business service. The correct category can depend on the premises, audience, music source and use.
A provider agreement does not automatically answer every Australian rights question. Check whether it covers the required public playback rights and whether radio, television, consumer streaming, other recordings, live music, copying or online use are excluded.

If you only use MelloJam
According to MelloJam's current plan terms, a business that plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player is not using music from the OneMusic Australia repertoire covered by that licensing route. The MelloJam plan covers MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights MelloJam controls for that playback under those terms.
This statement is limited to the MelloJam playback. A non-waivable government, statutory or collecting-society charge can still apply if applicable local law imposes it directly on the venue. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying or online use require a separate rights check.
