Can I use Spotify in my business if I pay OneMusic Australia?

No, not by itself. OneMusic Australia addresses copyright permission for the business use of music. Spotify's own terms determine whether your account may be used in a business, and personal subscriptions are generally intended for private listening.

If you want to use a streaming service at work, confirm that it is licensed for commercial business playback and that your plan permits your premises and use. You may still need the relevant OneMusic permission.

The official OneMusic Australia site warns businesses to consider both the music source and the copyright licence. Keep both records.

You do not need a separate OneMusic Australia licence if you only use MelloJam

If your business plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player, you are not using music from the repertoire covered by OneMusic Australia's licensing route. MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights it controls are included in your MelloJam plan, so you do not need a separate licence from OneMusic Australia for the MelloJam playback itself.

A separate non-waivable venue charge can still apply where local law imposes one. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying and online use are outside the MelloJam plan.
