What does an Entandem licence cover?

An Entandem licence can cover the public performance of musical works and sound recordings for the live or recorded uses listed in the selected licence. It may cover background music, retail, hospitality, fitness, concerts, festivals or another category.

The selected tariff matters. Online concerts, copying music, synchronisation, music supplied to a digital platform and other specialised uses may need separate permissions or direct licensing.

Compare the planned use with the current Entandem licence categories before assuming that every use is included.

You do not need a separate Entandem licence if you only use MelloJam

If your business plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player, you are not using music from the repertoire covered by Entandem's licensing route. MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights it controls are included in your MelloJam plan, so you do not need a separate licence from Entandem for the MelloJam playback itself.

A separate non-waivable venue charge can still apply where local law imposes one. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying and online use are outside the MelloJam plan.
