How does Entandem calculate the fee?

Entandem uses tariffs administered for SOCAN and RE:SOUND. The fee depends on how music is used in public and on the criteria in the applicable tariff. Factors can include business type, square footage, revenue, capacity, admissions, devices, live use and whether the licence is annual, quarterly or per event.

Give complete information about background, featured, live, dance, fitness, event and online use. Entandem's portal calculates the fee after the relevant music uses and business details are entered.

You do not need a separate Entandem licence if you only use MelloJam

If your business plays only MelloJam music through the MelloJam player, you are not using music from the repertoire covered by Entandem's licensing route. MelloJam's original catalogue and the commercial playback rights it controls are included in your MelloJam plan, so you do not need a separate licence from Entandem for the MelloJam playback itself.

A separate non-waivable venue charge can still apply where local law imposes one. Radio, television, Spotify, other recordings, live music, DJs, events, copying and online use are outside the MelloJam plan.
